Operator - The IA agent
What if I told you that booking a trip, doing your daily shopping or having your calendar organised by a virtual agent could be a new reality?
What if I told you that booking a trip, doing your daily shopping or having your calendar organised by a virtual agent could be a new reality?
In this article we present a recent technology that could represent a revolution in the way we explore and act on the web in everyday actions.
Introducing ‘Operator’, built by OpenAI, it's an agent that can access the web to carry out tasks for you.
Using its own browser, this agent can view a web page and interact with it by typing, clicking and moving around. It is currently a research preview, which means it will have some limitations and will evolve based on user feedback. In short, it is capable of doing its job for you independently - in this case the user delegates a task to it, the ‘Operator’ carries it out.
Cases of use
Operator can be used to perform various types of repetitive browser tasks, helping people to save time on these daily actions and opening up new opportunities for you and your company.
Some of the use cases we have identified are:
The future
The ability to use the same interfaces and tools that we humans interact with on a daily basis extends the usefulness of Artificial Intelligence, helping people to save time on their daily tasks, reduce errors and optimise processes.
Presented as the next big thing in AI after ChatGPT: a new technology that will change the way people use the Internet and their PCs. Instead of just providing and processing information, agents can - in theory - take action and finalise concrete steps.
